Stud Poker Online

Generally, you will find four types of stud poker variants in online casinos of India. They are Three cards poker, Caribbean stud poker, Five cards poker and Seven cards poker.

In this article, we have covered the game tutorials for the entire stud poker variants for your guidance.

Now let’s get into the article.

How to Play Caribbean Stud poker?

Unlike other poker games, Caribbean stud poker is played against the house. Since it is played online, there is no chance of bluffing and deception. Thus, you have to play your natural game. There are some rules and methods of playing Caribbean stud poker which you must know before getting into the play. Thus, here, you will be guided through the gaming tutorials of Caribbean stud poker.

First, to begin the game, you have to place your bet on the box marked ANTE at the table. You can also put a progressive bet as per your wish. The reason to place a progressive bet is to weigh your chance of winning extra money. If your hand contains any one of these, i.e. Flush, Full house, Four-of-a-kind, Straight flush or Royal flush, progressive bet will help you hit Jackpot and bring you an extra payout from the casino without having to defeat the dealer. Placing this bet depends upon your choice. Payout for this bet varies from casino to casino.

After you place one or both of your bets (Ante or both Ante and Progressive), all the active players and a dealer will be dealt five cards each.

Here only the dealer places one of his cards up with four cards face down on the table. At this point, you can see your cards and decide whether to call or fold. If you believe that your cards have the potential to beat the dealer, you can make a call and add the double wager at the place marked either CALL or BET. Or, else if you feel that you cannot beat the dealer, you can fold and lose both your bets. It is best to do some mental calculation before taking a decision. You need to ask yourself if you have basic poker hand ranking that secures your win.

Let us assume that you have a playable hand and you are likely to beat the dealer. So, you made your call by keeping the extra bet in the box marked BET. If your Ante bet was $10, then you should place $20 on the BET box.

When you, including other players, make a decision to play or fold your hands, the dealer reveals his hand.

After the dealer reveals his hand, he also needs to qualify to proceed with the game further. He could only be eligible if he possesses cards with at least one Ace or King. If he fails to qualify, he must fold. If it happens, the remaining players who have stayed on the game table receive 1:1 odds on the Ante Bet. The secondary bet will be refunded without the winning payout.

To be precise, you will get back your original $10 ante, plus an extra $10. But your secondary bet of $20 would be returned without the additional payout.

Contrary to this, if the dealer’s hand contains at least an Ace or King, the game will proceed further based on traditional poker hand ranking.

Moreover, if your cards rank higher than that of the dealer’s hand, you will be able to beat the dealer.

You will get paid for both your ante and secondary bet according to this poker hand ranking table.

How to play Seven Cards Stud Poker?

Seven cards stud poker is one of the widely played poker game in online casinos. It is played with a standard deck of 52 cards without Joker.

Usually, a seven cards stud can only accommodate eight players to avoid cards running out on a deal. The standard deck consists of four suits: Spades, Hearts, Diamonds and Clubs. Each of these suits consists of 13 cards and has its ranking purposes.

You may want to play more than five betting rounds based on the card on your hand.

To get into the game, first, you have to place your bet at the table. The bet amount is determined before the play begins.

After that, a total of seven cards are dealt for each player with two cards face down (hole cards) and one face-up (door card). The main goal of a player is to remain until the end of the betting round without folding his cards. To stay until the end, you must have the highest-ranking poker hand among all the players. Here we have listed the poker hand ranking from top to bottom for your guidance.

Straight Flush (Sequence of five cards in the same suit)

Four (of same kind)

Full house (A pair with 3 of a kind)

Flush (5 cards in the same suit)

Ace is the highest card that you can get on your hand. And the remaining cards on the ranks are King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, and 8,7,6,5,4,3,2.

In the first betting round, a player with the lowest ranking card makes the first bet as a bring-in. Then play moves to the next player. It is up to the next player whether to call or fold. He can either bet the exact amount as of the first player or can raise the ante by doubling the previous bet. He can also fold to be out of the hand.

After all the players call or fold, the second betting round starts.

The remaining players are then dealt another card face up. Now the player who has the best face-up poker hand can check (Stay in hand without betting), or make a bet. Then, the remaining active players can bet, raise the ante or fold.

Once all players call or fold, the second betting round ends and third begins—the same process of betting, calling or folding continues till the round five among the remaining players.

After the completion of the fifth betting round, all the persisting players will reveal their best cards on hand choosing five out of the seven cards dealt.

In the end, the player with the highest-ranking poker hand sweeps all the chips on his side.

How to play three cards Stud Poker?

Three cards stud poker is a fun and easy online casino game. Derek Webb invented this game in 1944. Like most of the poker games, you require both luck and downright strategy to win in three cards poker.

The intent of this game is to make the best poker hand possible with only three cards. Like Caribbean stud poker, here you will be playing only with the dealer.

To enter the game, first, you have to place your ante bet.

Then the dealer deals three cards each to you and himself. After this, you can examine your cards while dealer cards still face down. Hereafter seeing your cards, you have to decide to call or fold. If you have strong and playable hands, you can make a call by doubling your ante bet. If you choose to fold you will lose ante wager.

In case you make a call, the game will proceed further. After your call, the dealer will turn all his cards face up. At this point, the dealer needs to qualify with a queen-high or better. Anything low than that, will automatically reward you with money on the ante bet. Also, your play bet will be a push.

On the contrary, if the dealer qualifies, your hand will be compared to the dealer’s hand. After reaching both the hands, only the best hand will be rewarded. For instance, if your hand is better than the dealer’s, you win even money on the ante and play bets. But if the dealer’s hand proves better than yours, you will lose both your ante and play bets. Likewise, if both hands are strong, then the game will end in a tie. Both the ante and play bets will be termed as push this time. However, if you have a strong hand regardless of the value of the dealer’s hand, you will receive an ante bonus.

Also, at early in the game, if you have placed a pair plus bet, you will be paid based on the value of your hand. The payout ratio for this bet varies from casino to casino.

How to play five cards stud Poker?

Five cards stud poker is the most advanced form of poker. It came to existence since the American Civil War. Five cards poker is played with five cards with no community card involved.

To get entry into this game, first, you must place the ante along with other players. After that, a dealer deals five face-down cards to each of the players. With the dealing of 5 cards, the first round of betting starts with a bring-in bet. It is mandatory for the players sitting left to the dealer to place a bring-in bet.

It should either be equal to the ante bet or higher than that. Whatever would be the bring-in bet, you and other players should match with it to proceed with the game. Then in the next round, after all the players decide to call, they will get a chance to change up to three of their cards.

But if you or any other player has an ace, you may even change four cards.

Subsequently, in the next round, a player left to the dealer must then bet again. You and other players must then match or raise the bet to stay in. Afterwards, the last player to bet or raise the stake during the final betting round will first show his hand.

If you have the highest hands of five cards among the other players, you will sweep the board.

In brief, these are the best poker game variants of online casino Stud poker. We hope that this clear and concise gaming tutorial will enrich your poker experience. Last but not the least, poker is not always a matter of holding the best cards. With a proper strategy, knowledge, and smartness, you can win with a poor hand as well.
